I moved into a house in the Blue Mountains over 10 years ago. The previous owners left some stuff behind, mainly rubbish to be thrown away. Underneath the house I found boxes, half-buried into the ground. Inside there were 35mm film transparencies, damaged, with film emulsion so badly deteriorated that the images were no longer recognisable. I cleaned the slides as much as could, put them into a screw jar, and filed under “found objects for later’, forgetting all about it….until now.
